Fall is the perfect time to refresh your home décor with warm metallics, soft textures, and creative DIY touches. This season, we’re showing you how to create a stunning gold leaf pumpkin centerpiece that will elevate your fall tablescape with a modern, elegant twist.
Our DIY ombré pumpkins are easy to make, budget-friendly, and look absolutely beautiful as a fall table centerpiece or accent décor on your mantle, entryway, or coffee table.
A Modern Fall Tablescape: Pink, Gold, Gray & White
One of my favorite color combinations for fall tablescapes is pink, gold, gray, and white. It’s unexpected yet perfectly balanced—soft, crisp, and chic. For this year’s design, we wanted to experiment with gold leaf pumpkins as the star of our centerpiece, paired with clean neutral tones and romantic pink accents.
The result? A sophisticated, feminine fall table design that feels fresh and festive without relying on traditional orange hues.
Pink & Gray Fall Table Décor Inspiration
The foundation of our tablescape began with a light gray table linen. Its soft, organic texture paired beautifully with crisp white dishes, matte black napkins, and white Chiavari chairs—a timeless backdrop for our modern color palette.
For a subtle pop of pink, we added rosy champagne flutes, perfect for toasting friends and family during the fall season. The gold flatware tied in seamlessly with the DIY gold leaf pumpkins, creating a cohesive and polished look.
To finish the table, we designed a floral arrangement full of bold pinks and lush greenery. The deeper tones added dimension and warmth, making the tablescape feel inviting and seasonal. We styled the arrangement in a natural wooden vessel, but it would look just as stunning inside a white pumpkin vase for extra fall flair.
DIY Gold Leaf Pumpkins
Ready to create your own gold leaf pumpkin centerpiece? Here’s how to make these gorgeous pumpkins at home!
Supplies Needed:
Small real or craft pumpkins
Acrylic craft paints (3–4 colors — we used two shades of pink and bright white)
Foam paint brushes
Bristle paint brush
Gold leaf sheets
Water-based adhesive or gold leaf adhesive
Directions:
Paint Your Pumpkins
Use a foam brush to paint your pumpkins with your desired acrylic colors. Lighter tones, like blush or white, create a beautiful ombré base. Some colors may need multiple coats—allow each layer to dry completely.Apply Adhesive
Once dry, use a clean foam brush to apply a thin layer of adhesive to the areas where you want gold leaf. You can cover the top, bottom, or sides—get creative with placement for a varied and organic look.Add the Gold Leaf
Carefully place a sheet of gold leaf over the adhesive. Using a dry bristle brush, gently smooth it out and remove any excess gold leaf. Continue until the desired coverage is achieved.Refine the Look
Repeat this process for each pumpkin, alternating gold leaf placement and base colors for visual interest.
💡 Tip: Cover your workspace with parchment or craft paper—gold leaf is delicate and can cling to surfaces easily!
Style Your Gold Leaf Pumpkin Centerpiece
Once your pumpkins are finished, group them in the center of your table alongside your floral arrangement. Mix in candles, greenery, and metallic accents to enhance the glow of the gold leaf.
This centerpiece pairs beautifully with gray table linens, white dishware, and soft pink or neutral accessories for a balanced, cohesive design.

Whether you’re hosting a Friendsgiving dinner, fall bridal shower, or simply decorating your home for the season, this DIY gold leaf pumpkin centerpiece adds a touch of elegance and handmade charm to any space.
The mix of pink, gold, gray, and white feels sophisticated yet cozy—perfect for celebrating the beauty of fall in style.
