Planning a winter baby shower for a little snowflake on the way? Whether you’re hosting for a boy, girl, twins, or keeping things gender-neutral, these simple winter baby shower ideas will help you create a cozy, memorable celebration. Keep scrolling for décor inspiration, dessert table styling, DIY activities, and personalized touches perfect for a winter wonderland baby shower.

Winter Baby Shower Decorations

Create a warm and inviting atmosphere by blending rustic winter elements with soft, snowy neutrals. Our focal point was a distressed wooden backdrop featuring a chic antler silhouette—an eye-catching centerpiece behind the snack and beverage table.

We layered a fitted white floor-length linen to add softness and brightness. To bring in shimmer and color, we draped a tissue paper garland across the front of the table using straight pins at each end.

Snowflake-Inspired Table Settings

Small décor details can elevate your tablescape without stretching your budget. We paired white paper chargers with metallic silver plates for added depth and visual interest. Real linen napkins created a touch of formality, though paper napkins would work beautifully too.

The highlight of each place setting was a personalized script place card perched atop a silver snowflake ornament. These ornaments doubled as take-home favors—an ideal two-in-one for winter baby showers.

Winter Baby Shower Desserts & Drinks

Lean into a “winter white” palette when planning your dessert table. We served an assortment of snowy-themed sweets, including:

  • Buttercream cake topped with an oversized silver snowflake

  • Cupcakes with dainty snowflake toppers

  • Powdered donut holes

  • Yogurt-covered pretzels

  • Yogurt-covered raisins

Create a Hot Cocoa Bar

A “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” hot cocoa bar is always a hit at winter baby showers. Keep cocoa warm in an insulated carafe and offer a variety of toppings such as:

  • Mini marshmallows or shaped marshmallows

  • Peppermint sticks

  • White chocolate pieces

  • Butterscotch bits

  • Stirring spoons

It’s festive, functional, and instantly cozy.

Winter Baby Shower Activity Ideas

1. DIY Baby Food Jar Snow Globes

This adorable craft is perfect for upcycling glass baby food jars—like our favorites from Beech-Nut®. Guests love making them, and they double as homemade favors.

Supplies

  • Clean Beech-Nut baby food jars

  • Faux snow

  • Miniatures (bottle brush trees, tiny reindeer, ornaments, wrapped gifts)

  • Hot glue gun

  • Gold or silver spray paint (optional)

Directions

  1. Remove labels and sticky residue using Goo-Gone or similar.

  2. Hot glue your miniatures to the inside of the jar lid.

  3. Add a pinch of faux snow to the jar.

  4. Screw the lid on securely to complete your snow globe.

These look magical displayed on a dessert table or gift table.

2. Snowflake Message Ornaments

Invite guests to write baby advice or words of encouragement on paper snowflake ornaments. Hang the finished notes on branches in a vase for a charming display. After the shower, the parents-to-be can save them as keepsakes.

3. Blind Baby Food Tasting Game

A classic shower activity that works for any season! Select 3–5 simple flavors from Beech-Nut®, then remove or cover the labels. Guests taste each flavor with individual spoons and write their guesses on cards. Award a prize to the person with the most correct answers.

We hope these simple winter baby shower ideas help you plan a celebration that’s warm, festive, and full of special moments. For more winter party inspiration, explore our blog archives and start planning your own snow-kissed event!
